CHDA is a cycloaliphatic dianhydride, capable of producing low-color polymer films, especially when used in combination with other cycloaliphatic and fluorine containing co-monomers. Its structure is analogous to PMDA’s, but with an aliphatic ring. Its melting point is about 240°C. Polyimides made from CHDA are more flexible vs. the analogous PMDA structure. CHDA-based polyimide films provide high dielectric performance and are used in select electronic applications.
